Terms & Conditions

In order to participate, the candidates have to fill in the on-line application form and send all the required documents not later than April 15th, 2024.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

The following documents must be enclosed with the application form:
a) Birth certificate or copy of passport or identity card
b) One recent photograph
c) Curriculum vitae
d) Copies of Study Diplomas or Awards
e) Proof of payment of registration fee
f) Video recording (youtube or vimeo), unedited, showing the competitor conducting an orchestra in rehearsal and/or concert situations (if possible two works or more), of a total length of 10-15 minutes

Registration Fee

Your name must appear on the deposit.
Participants must deposit the net amount of 90€ euros by bank transfer. Please note that the costs of the transfer are borne by the depositor.

Media rights

Participants will receive no fee or other compensation for television, radio, audio recordings, video recordings, live streamings and broadcasts of the Competition, including international circulation of relevant material.

The Competition will be recorded, broadcast and streamed or made available for podcast, it will be photographed and published on different websites.

Applicants disclaim all rights and fees.

All applications will be reviewed by a pre jury and treated as confidential. The result of the preliminary round will be made public.

Cancellation of the Competition

If the Competition cannot take place owing to force majeure, all the enrolments will be cancelled. This decision cannot be appealed against.

Other regulations

• The Jury is entitled to deny the award of any prize and to distribute the prize-monies otherwise. The Jury may decide to offer a special prize to one of the 6 semi-finalists.

• The prize-monies are subject to Greek income tax legislature. Tax may therefore be deducted from them.

• The first prize-winner will not be eligible to participate in future Dimitri Mitropoulos International Competitions for Orchestral Conducting, while the second and third prize-winners will be eligible to do so after the end of a five-year period.

• Competitors who are not ready to conduct when called upon to do so may be disqualified. The decisions of the organizers and of the Jury are final during all rounds of the Competition and cannot be called into question. The Competition rules serve in lieu of a contract between the parties.

Personal data

The competition terms are formulated and valid in the context of the validity of the regulations relating to the protection of personal data, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, as implemented from 25-05-2018, Law no. 4624/2019 as in force, and other applicable, relevant, regulatory provisions.

In this context, only what is absolutely necessary and required for the proper conduct of the competition is collected and processed.

Applicants accept the above and agree to the above framework.

Having completed the application process for the “Dimitris Mitropoulos” competition, new applications are no longer accepted.
