Terms & Conditions

In order to participate, the candidates have to fill in the on-line application form and send all the required documents not later than August 31st, 2025.

Application forms that are not fully completed will not be considered.

The supporting documents that must accompany the Application are the following:
a) Birth certificate or copy of passport or ID
b) One recent photograph
c) Curriculum vitae
d) Optionally: Copy of academic degree certification (if available)
e) Proof of payment of the registration fee
f) Contact information: e-mail, mobile phone number, WhatsApp number
g) Score/sheet music of the submitted work in electronic format (PDF file)
h) Optionally: MIDI file of the submitted work (if applicable)

Registration Fee

Include your full name followed by “MITROPOULOS COMPETITION 2025” in the Information for Beneficiary box.
Participants must deposit the net amount of 90€ euros by bank transfer. Please note that the costs of the transfer are borne by the depositor.

Broadcasting rights

The Competition may be audio- and video- recorded, and/or broadcasted on the radio, the television, through live streaming or through any other means, without being bound by any monetary, moral or other demands from the contestants.

Cancellation of the Competition

Should there be a need to suspend or cancel the Competition due to force majeure, all registrations will be cancelled immediately. This decision is not subject to appeal.

Other regulations

• The Jury reserves the right to deny awarding one or multiple awards. It also reserves the right to distribute the awards differently, according to its judgement.

• The monetary prizes are subject to the Greek Income Tax legislation. Therefore, a percentage of withheld taxes may be subtracted from the stated total prize sums.

• The winner of the First Prize does not have the right to enter any future International Competitions “Dimitri Mitropoulos” for Composers. The winners of the Second and Third Prize may only enter the Competition five years after their initial Competition entry.

• Final stage contestants must provide, free of charge, the requested musical scores and relevant material in digital form. Failing to do so in a timely and appropriate manner may result in disqualification from the Competition.

• In case of an untimely response, refusal or inability to provide the necessary musical scores and relevant material that is requested, the position will be filled by the first runner-up contestant.

• The decisions of the organizers and the Jury, at all phases of the Competition, are deemed final and irrefutable. The Terms and Conditions of the Competition are equally binding for both parties.

Confidentiality – Public disclosure

All applications will be examined by a preliminary committee and will be fully confidential. The result of the preliminary round will be disclosed according to the regulations.

Personal data

The competition terms are formulated and valid in the context of the validity of the regulations relating to the protection of personal data, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, as implemented from 25-05-2018, Law no. 4624/2019 as in force, and other applicable, relevant, regulatory provisions.

In this context, only what is absolutely necessary and required for the proper conduct of the competition is collected and processed.
